Sixth-place finish in World of Outlaws prelim feature at Talladega

Friday night found Dale McDowell in action at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) for the doubleheader weekend with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series.

With the 48-car field split in two, Dale’s qualifying effort pinned him on the fifth row of his preliminary feature. With $5,000 on the line, McDowell muscled forward three spots in the 25-lap affair to register a sixth-place finish.

On Saturday, McDowell raced his way into the $35,000-to-win Alabama Gang 100 A-Main with a third-place finish in his heat. Slated to start 17th, a late rain shower before the 75-lapper hit the track forced officials to postpone the event to September 15th.
