Third place finish in Labor Day special at Smoky Mountain

Competing in his lone event over the Labor Day weekend, Dale McDowell visited Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) on Saturday night for the Schaeffer’s Fall Nationals opener. With the second fastest lap in his time trial group behind Mike Marlar positioning him fourth on the starting grid for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Dale improved one spot in the 40-lap affair to place third behind Mike Marlar and Austin Kirkpatrick with Vic Hill and David Payne completing the Top-5 finishers.
