Firecracker 100 weekend brings McDowell to Lernerville Speedway

Thursday night found Shane McDowell Racing pilot Dale McDowell in action at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) for the 15th annual Firecracker 100 weekend. Drawing 53 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Dale edged his way into the preliminary feature with the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. For another preliminary feature on Friday afternoon, McDowell came in fourth in his heat before picking up a 10-lap consolation victory. Improving one spot in the 30-lap main event, Dale logged a 20th-place outing.

With preliminary results determining the starting lineups for heat races on Saturday, Dale dropped one spot in the 10-lapper to finish fifth. Needing a second-place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $30,000-to-win Firecracker 100, McDowell fell short with a fourth-place finish.
