McDowell notches fourth-place finish in Dream opener at Eldora

Making the trek to the famed Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio), Dale McDowell was one of 74 Late Models on Wednesday afternoon to kick off the 27th annual Dirt Late Model Dream with four nights of racing. With preliminary results on Wednesday pinning him on the pole for his heat race on Thursday, Dale posted a runner-up finish behind Brandon Overton, which positioned him ninth on the starting grid for the $127,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream. Advancing forward five spots, McDowell posted a fourth-place finish in the 100-lapper. He trailed Brandon Overton, Tim McCreadie, and Kyle Bronson to the checkers with Brandon Sheppard coming in fifth.

For the 26th annual Dirt Late Model Dream on Friday, McDowell edged his way into the preliminary feature with a fourth-place finish in his heat. With $10,000 on the line, Dale gained three spots to record a 13th-place outing.

Rolling off fifth in his heat race on Saturday afternoon, Dale came one spot short of a transfer position with a fourth-place finish. Streaking to a 20-lap consolation victory, McDowell locked into the 22nd-starting position for the $126,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream. Breaking into the Top-10, Dale passed 12 cars in the 100-lap affair to place 10th.
