McDowell soars to pair of podium finishes in Deep Fried 75 at Duck River Raceway Park
Dale McDowell unloaded his Shane McDowell Racing No. 17M machine at Duck River Raceway Park (Shelbyville, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon to kick off the two-day Deep Fried 75 with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.
Among a strong field of 32 supers, McDowell picked up a heat race win and redrew the pole position for the $8,000-to-win opener. Dale led the majority of the 40-lap feature until Jimmy Owens snuck by him on the bottom with just two circuits remaining. McDowell settled for second while Zack Mitchell rounded out the podium.
McDowell started sixth in the $15,000-to-win finale on Saturday and slowly made his way to the front where he would land on the podium once again. He finished behind Sam Seawright and Cory Hedgecock while Ashton Winger and Zack Mitchell completed the Top-5.
