McDowell records runner-up finish with Southern Thunder at North Georgia Speedway
Dale McDowell unloaded the Shane McDowell Racing No. 17M machine at North Georgia Speedway (Chatsworth, Ga.) on Saturday afternoon for the $7,500-to-win Young Memorial with the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series.
McDowell started off the evening by setting quicktime among the 25-car field and earned the pole for the 50-lap main event. Dale led the first 10 circuits before Cory Hedgecock found a way around him. Dale fell back to third, but rallied to finish runner-up while Dalton Cook completed the podium.
