Podium finish in Mountain Moonshine Classic prelim

Following a sixth-to-third run in his heat race, McDowell gained three spots in the 30-lap preliminary feature to finish third. He followed Chis Madden and Mike Marlar across the line.

For the $50,000-to-win Mountain Moonshine Classic on Saturday, Dale edged his way into the main event with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting in 13th, McDowell was the first retiree of the race on lap 14.
